Gate Zero:
The Threshold

Free · No payment required · This is the invitation

You are standing at the door. You have not decided yet whether to walk through it. That is alright. This is where trust gets built, not rushed. This is where you hear my voice for the first time and recognize your own story inside of mine.

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

Psalm 91:1, KJV

My Story

I have a limp.

I had to research why. Genesis 32 tells the story of Jacob, wrestling a man through the night until daybreak, refusing to let go until he was blessed. Scripture says the man touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh, and it came out of joint. Jacob got his blessing. He also got a limp he carried the rest of his life.

"And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh."

Genesis 32:31, KJV

I used to think a limp meant something was broken and never fixed. Now I know better. The limp wasn't the wound left over after the blessing. The limp was proof the blessing was real.

HaPetach, from the Hebrew פֶּתַח, means opening, doorway, entrance. Not the room itself, not the destination, just the place where you stop standing outside and start standing at the edge of something. Petach carries the sense of a threshold you have to choose to cross, nobody drags you through it. That choosing is the whole point of this gate.

Where I've Stood

I was baptized at sixteen.
I found my salvation at thirty two.

At sixty four, working as a tutor with elementary school children, I fell off a ladder and broke my ankle, November 5, 2024. I wasn't moving the way I was used to, and in that forced stillness, God finally got my full attention after talking to me my whole life without me listening.

In the years since, I have been every woman this ministry is built for.

The Guilty Giver

Raising my children the majority of their lives as a single parent. I gave and gave and gave until there was nothing left to give.

The Lost Wanderer

The years between that baptism and that salvation. No direction. No idea where I was walking.

The Depleted Survivor

Working multiple jobs just to keep up rent and food. Running on empty and still showing up.

The Striving Achiever

A bachelor's, two master's, pursuing a doctorate, believing the next accomplishment would finally fill me. It never did. God does the filling.

If you see yourself in one of these women, you are not behind. You are standing exactly where I have stood.

Silence is not a mood you fall into. It is a practice, one you have to choose, the same way Jacob chose not to let go. It means looking at yourself, really looking, the way you'd look in a mirror you usually avoid. Every time you do, it becomes a kind of school. God reveals something. You understand it. You move to the next place.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts."

Psalm 139:23, KJV

If You Have Never Said Yes

The Door Underneath Every Door

Everything above is real, testimony, wounds, thresholds. But there is one door underneath all the others, and it is the reason this ministry exists.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Romans 10:9-10, KJV

If you have never crossed that threshold, you can cross it right now, before anything else on this page. The gates, the practices, the silence, all of it sits on top of this one.

Come as you are.
