Enter The Secret Place

You already know this one. You give and give and call it love, but underneath it there is guilt, not love. You feel guilty resting. You feel guilty saying no. You feel guilty wanting anything for yourself that does not also serve someone else.

I was her. This ministry was built on a day my body finally stopped letting me pour anymore, a broken ankle, of all things, was what it took for me to sit still long enough to hear that I had been giving from empty for years and calling it faith.

If this is you, you are not selfish for wanting more. You have just never been shown a version of giving that does not require you to disappear.

"Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom."

You are still standing, and most days that alone feels like the whole accomplishment. You have survived what should have broken you, but survival has become your only setting.

You do not know how to rest without feeling like something bad is about to happen. If this is you, the exhaustion is not weakness. It is what carrying too much for too long actually looks like from the inside.

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

You cannot sit still, and it is not really about productivity. Somewhere along the way you learned that stopping was dangerous, that your worth lived inside what you accomplished.

Every quiet moment gets filled before it can turn into a question you are not ready to answer. If this is you, the striving was never really about the task. It was about proving you deserved to take up space.

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

You do not recognize yourself some days. The roles you have carried, the seasons you have moved through, changed you in ways you are still catching up to.

You are not lost the way the word makes it sound. You are in the exact place where the truest things get revealed, when nothing is holding you up except what is actually real. If this is you, this searching is not failure. It is the beginning of finding something steadier than a role.
